For years I dreamed of traveling to Belgium to search for copies of birth certificates and marriage records on Baugniet ancestors I had sent an E-mail with my research parameters and received an immediate reply from Dr. Luc Janssens, Werkleider-Chef de Travaux, giving directions to the archives.
On the morning of 11 September 2007, I hopped on the underground metro with sisters Wendy and Marian, 1B headed in the directin of Erasmus. At the Aumale statin we folled ru Vander Bruggen to the Canal and arrived at the Anderlecht State Archives.
There I found birth certificates of many Baugniet ancestors, including for great great grandfather Clement, his siblings and sons Florent and Frederic, my great grand father.
I admit that Belgian chocolate still wins hands down, but for pure enjoyment, this comes in a close second.
